Improve exhaust flow, reduce exhaust gas temperature (EGT) and realize greater power gains with the new "Full Bore" driver's side exhaust manifold for the '01-'06 GM Duramax.
You may not know it, but the factory driver's side manifold is pinched down to allow clearance for the steering shaft, which actually isn't required. As a result, this manifold flows 80% of the passenger side manifold. The BD Full Bore exhaust manifold restores exhaust flow to match the passenger side, and is a direct, bolt-in replacement for the factory part (GM gasket required). The BD Full Bore manifold is made from high-silicon ductile iron to resist cracking from high temperature and vibration, and is even tapped to accept the most popular EGT probes.

Torque Convertors
Torque converters have 2 stages, a fluid coupling that occurs first when you are starting, accelerating or pulling up a big hill. When you are cruising at a constant speed the lock up portion of the converter is engaged and 100% of each rpm is transferred through the converter, just like through a standard clutch.
We have redesigned the fluid coupling by reshaping the stator fins to achieve a higher ratio of rpm transfer through the convertor when in a fluid coupling. The lock up clutch material and surface area is enhanced to hold the high engine torque on performance Diesel engines.
Many of the models contain a new billet front cover that eliminates clutch surface warping and mounting pad weakness.

Don`t shut your hot engine down after a hard run. Switching your engine off after a heavy haul when the exhaust temperature is above normal engine idle temperature can result in turbo bearing damage.
With the engine stopped there is no oil flow over the bearings that support the hot turbocharger wheel assembly. This causes the residue oil being burned and the resulting carbon will cause premature turbo failure!
You can prevent this from happening with the Cool Down Timer or the Cool Engine Shutdown!
Simply set the shutdown temperature, lock the door and walk away. The engine will shutdown at the specified temperature.
The Cool Down Timer (CDT) works in conjunction with any K-Type exhaust gas temperature (EGT) probe that is common with most analog pyrometer gauge kits. Wire it to an existing EGT probe or install a new one. |
