Whether you know it or not, most of today's newer vehicle's have a special chip built into the key that is designed to help prevent vehicle theft. In order to install a remote start into a chip-equipped vehicle, a special module is required to "trick" the ECU into thinking the key is in the ignition. These modules will only send the coded signal to the ECU when instructed to do so by the alarm or remote start.
