To break it down as simple as it gets, you have 2 options...An Sct SF (Strategy Flash) or a custom unit. We offer both Xcal2 SF and Custom units. SCT Xcal2 SF tuners are similar to any other major brand of tuner in that every one has a generic loaded set of tunes. There is a bit of end-user adjustability built into a SF device as well for things like shift firmness, tire size, and other perameters. There are 3 included files, Economy, Tow, And Street Performance.

A Custom Innovative SCT Xcal2 is the cream-of-the-crop tuner for the 2003 and up Ford 6.0. These units are sold bare from SCT and the tuner developes his own tunes and installs them into the Xcal2 Unit for use. The Xcal2 at that point is a delivery package for that particular tuners work. In a custom unit you have available Economy, Tow, Street Performance, and you can also go for 1 or 2 of the Extreme files called Extreme Street and Extreme Race. The Extreme files are 160HP files and make a 6.0 simply unreal! The Extreme Race file is going to be the fastest on the drag strip, but uncomfortable on the road. We run this tuner and do not like the race file for street use. It really acts funny with the tranny under part throttle settings.....but this tune is not designed for part throttle, it is a race file only. The Extreme Street file is maximum power with tranny tuning that makes the truck drive very well...so well its hard to not get tickets, smoke tires, and pick on all the slow moving Mustangs on the street.

A custom unit is typically tuned to disable EGR to lower water temps and nearly elliminates puking radiator fluid. They typically activate turbo brakes on the tow file. The transmission shifting is superb, and the convertor lock strategy is completely remapped. A custom Extreme Street is a great daily file, but does require at least an EGT gauge. The Street Performance can be used without a gauge, but being a custom tune, or being a SF tune...there is no promise you will not get to hot and hurt the engine. Without gauges you cross your fingers and hope for the best.....

When you buy a custom unit you will need to give us your PCM code from the factory transmission. This is on the drivers side under the hood, beside the battery. The PCM is the alluminum box mounted on its side between the battery and the inner fender. Remove the battery cover, and unbolt the PCM so that you can move it and find the sticker. The sticker will have a 4 digit code such as ABC1, it will be letter, letter, letter, number. Get us this code for the custom tunes. If your truck had been RE-FLASHED by Ford, there will be a sticker inside the door jam saying what the new code is, or up under the hood in a place such as the fan cover. Take a look before you start tearing into the truck.....it may be easy to find!

To break it down as simple as it gets, you have 2 options...An Sct SF (Strategy Flash) or a custom unit. We offer both Xcal2 SF and Custom units. SCT Xcal2 SF tuners are similar to any other major brand of tuner in that every one has a generic loaded set of tunes. There is a bit of end-user adjustability built into a SF device as well for things like shift firmness, tire size, and other perameters. There are 3 included files, Economy, Tow, And Street Performance.

A Custom Innovative SCT Xcal2 is the cream-of-the-crop tuner for the 2003 and up Ford 6.0. These units are sold bare from SCT and the tuner developes his own tunes and installs them into the Xcal2 Unit for use. The Xcal2 at that point is a delivery package for that particular tuners work. In a custom unit you have available Economy, Tow, Street Performance, and you can also go for 1 or 2 of the Extreme files called Extreme Street and Extreme Race. The Extreme files are 160HP files and make a 6.0 simply unreal! The Extreme Race file is going to be the fastest on the drag strip, but uncomfortable on the road. We run this tuner and do not like the race file for street use. It really acts funny with the tranny under part throttle settings.....but this tune is not designed for part throttle, it is a race file only. The Extreme Street file is maximum power with tranny tuning that makes the truck drive very well...so well its hard to not get tickets, smoke tires, and pick on all the slow moving Mustangs on the street.

A custom unit is typically tuned to disable EGR to lower water temps and nearly elliminates puking radiator fluid. They typically activate turbo brakes on the tow file. The transmission shifting is superb, and the convertor lock strategy is completely remapped. A custom Extreme Street is a great daily file, but does require at least an EGT gauge. The Street Performance can be used without a gauge, but being a custom tune, or being a SF tune...there is no promise you will not get to hot and hurt the engine. Without gauges you cross your fingers and hope for the best.....

The SCT Xcal2 SF device and the Innovative SCT Xcal2 custom Extreme are both listed on the store and available to purchase. We sale MANY more of the Innovative units than we do the SF units, and the guys that buy them LOVE them...that is why you tend to hear a lot about the tuners.

Eric at Innovative does all of our custom tuning. He is well known as one of...if not the very best tuner of the 6.0 PSD engine. His shop is located less than 5 miles from a drag strip and he uses that strip as his tuning tool. Eric has spent many hours tweaking on these Fords, from the old 7.3 diesel and the new 6.0 to the Mustang 5.0 and Modular engines...to Supercharged lightnings and Crown Vic cars! He has ran, tested, baselined, and maximized just about every Ford made in the last 15 years. His time spent has earned him the reputation that he carries today, and it a reputation well deserved.

When you buy a custom unit you will need to give us your PCM code from the factory transmission. This is on the drivers side under the hood, beside the battery. The PCM is the alluminum box mounted on its side between the battery and the inner fender. Remove the battery cover, and unbolt the PCM so that you can move it and find the sticker. The sticker will have a 4 digit code such as ABC1, it will be letter, letter, letter, number. Get us this code for the custom tunes. If your truck had been RE-FLASHED by Ford, there will be a sticker inside the door jam saying what the new code is, or up under the hood in a place such as the fan cover. Take a look before you start tearing into the truck.....it may be easy to find!
